AUK Padel Tournament Brings Sport and Spirit

Duhok, Kurdistan Region – On October 28, 2025, the Student Government at the American University of Kurdistan (AUK) kicked off the AUK Padel Tournament, which concluded on October 30 with the final rounds.

Organized by the 8th Student Government Cabinet and sponsored by Pling Energy, the tournament brought together 48 players forming 24 teams, including 22 student teams and 2 staff teams. The event showcased athleticism, teamwork, and enthusiasm from the participants and spectators.

The final game featured an energetic performance by Jodi Ibrahim and Bilind Narmo who took first place, while Shaveen Aslam and Ahmed Sardar secured second place. Cengo, the AUK mascot, added to the festive atmosphere.

The tournament aimed to promote an active and competitive spirit among students while fostering unity through sport. It provided participants with a professional and enjoyable athletic experience beyond the classroom, enriching campus life and encouraging well-being through physical activity. Efforts are underway to promote volleyball for both men and women in similar friendly competitions.
