AUK Alumni Reunion Marks the Launch of the Alumni Association
Duhok, Kurdistan Region – On October 18, 2025, the Office of Alumni Relations at the American University of Kurdistan (AUK) hosted its third annual AUK Alumni Reunion, bringing together more than 160 graduates for an evening of connection, celebration, and shared memories. The event welcomed graduates from multiple cohorts and held special significance for the Class of 2025, who graduated just a few months earlier.
The highlight of the evening was the official launch of the AUK Alumni Association, which will serve as an alumni-led, university-supported body that connects alumni with their alma mater and with one another. The Association aims to foster a vibrant community that encourages professional development, business networking, and continued engagement, while promoting the university globally. Chapters will be centered in cities worldwide, gathering alumni for local events and empowering them to serve as brand ambassadors for AUK.
During the event, Ms. Farah Ali, Senior Coordinator of Alumni Relations, officially presented the founding committee of the AUK Alumni Association. The selected members will lead efforts to advance the Association’s mission, coordinate events and outreach activities, and strengthen the network of AUK graduates locally and internationally. The founding committee includes Lana Zibari as President, Lara Bashar Othman Sindi as Secretary, and Dara Jeladet Mustafa Albeyboni as Treasurer. The functional committees were also introduced as their members will play a key role in supporting the Association’s initiatives and activities.
Dr. Randall Rhodes, President of AUK, remarked:
“The Alumni Association will serve as a venue for alumni self-governance and a focal point for providing input to the University in respect to the provision of services and support structures to ensure that AUK’s alumni are successful.”
The establishment of the Association marks a significant milestone in empowering and elevating the visibility of AUK’s alumni community — one rooted in pride, connection, and continued collaboration.
